The Fighter’s Surgeon
Hello, I'm Megan Lisset Jimenez—a first-generation American born in New Jersey, shaped by my Cuban roots. My journey is more than a resume—it's a testament to seizing opportunities.
I studied Neuroscience at the University of Southern California, then attended medical school at Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine. My residency in Orthopaedic Surgery continued at Rowan University, followed by a Sports Medicine fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis.

My medical journey led me to Emory University in Georgia before embarking on a new chapter in the United States Army, where I serve as an officer, focusing on injury prevention, treatment, and return to combat and sport for soldiers.
Beyond the scalpel, martial arts has been my lifelong companion. From a 2nd-degree black belt in Kenpo to amateur boxing and Muay Thai, my journey converged with Jiu-Jitsu, where I proudly wear a brown belt. In competition, I faced adversity—tearing my ACL by way of a heel hook. Setbacks only fueled my comeback. Through relentless dedication, both pre and post-surgery, I reclaimed the mats, emerging stronger than ever.
This is not just my story; it's a narrative of resilience, cultural richness, and the pursuit of personal and professional excellence.
